This transcription of the Robert Noxon Daybooks is a faithful copy of the original books and is as free from error as circumstances allow. Dr Robert Noxon was a family physician who lived in the heart of Poughkeepsie from the late 1700’s through the early 1800’s. His practice covered a wide area of the Hudson River valley ex-tending into Dutchess County as far as Staatsburgh and Crum Elbow and to the west side of the Hudson River. He leaves a complete record about his patients and what medical care they received. From his notes it appears as though he was active 7 days per week and visited as many as a dozen or more persons per day. He was one of the doctors involved in the founding of the Dutchess County Medical Society begun in the early 1800’s. The information in these daybooks was likely transferred to Ledger “B”, perhaps daily. Ledger “B” has been previously transcribed as “Dr Robert Noxon’s Ledger “B”, KS 347.
