Sloop, Mill & Ledger Book | 1791–1792; 1802–1803; 1858–1859
This valuable indexed reference book is a transcript completed by Arthur C. M. Kelly of the original and provides peoples names who are located in northern, Dutchess County, NY from about 1791 through 1803 and 1858 and 1859. This ledger, over the years, has been used for various purposes.
The mill record, 1791+, seems to have been its original intent but was abandoned, leaving about 13 blank sheets before the Rhinebeck packet section was begun followed by the sloop "Friednship".
About 10 years passed before the book was again used, this time as a mill book and was started in the rear of the book and upside down using about 10 sheets and then the book was again laid aside until March 31, 1858 when it was used to record the names of successful bidders attending a farm dispersal auction.
